Lectures, case studies, exercises and group discussions will be used, together with MS Project.
Course Description
This course emphasizes tools, techniques and social components of project management. It applies the widely-accepted PMBOK set of standards (Project Management Body of Knowledge) to the analysis and study of project management. The course uses a chronological approach to project management and explains initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing projects. Using group discussions, case studies, and exercise simulations, students will learn how to apply tools and techniques of project management to navigate a project to a successful outcome. The Microsoft Project software tool will be introduced for project scheduling and management.

- Identify and assess what constitutes a project

- Assess and apply the five project management process groups to a project
- Describe the typical level of activity for each process group, and the interactions among them
