Course Description
This course provides an in-depth exploration of program planning within the context of leisure education. Leisure education concepts, such as leisure literacy, leisure research, and Therapeutic Recreation models and theories will be addressed. Students will gain advanced skills in program planning that will prepare them to lead, manage, and facilitate therapeutic recreation programs.

Learning Activities
In this course, students will engage in a variety of learning activities, such as lecture, discussion, group work, team-based exercises, and case studies.
Means of Assessment
The means of assessment for this course will align with the delivery mode and adhere to the ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ Evaluation Policy. Regardless of format, the assessment will include a minimum of three separate assessments and include a combination of:

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- compare and contrast models and theories relevant to therapeutic recreation practice;
- describe and discuss the relationship between foundational leisure education concepts;
- develop comprehensive therapeutic recreation program plans, such as program protocols and program evaluation processes, within the context of leisure education;
- describe the importance of program planning as it relates to quality service provision, advocacy, and other therapeutic recreation concepts.
